ARTour and the artists
The fifth edition of Prescott-Russell ARTour was, this year again, a fabulous success and it is with enthusiasm that the committee members and participating artists are preparing for the next season. The sixth edition of ARTour will take place on the 29th and 30th of September 2012.
According to Michel Côté, ARTour’s founding president, it is an event that gives great exposure to artists from this region. This open door event gives visitors the opportunity to meet the artists in their own creative environment and to explore different forms of art, to immerse themselves in the artist's world. We estimate at about 1,300 the number of visits to artist studios during ARTour weekend 2011, many of them going home with a painting, sculpture or piece of jewelry.
Artists of all mediums of expression are welcome (painting, drawing, sculpture, installations, ceramics, stained glass, art photography, etc.). They must present original works and reside, or have resided, in the Prescott-Russell area. A maximum of 25 artists will be accepted.
The participation fee in ARTour 2012 is $250 per artist. These amounts will go towards promotional materials (brochures and brochure distribution, posters and newspaper advertisements). Artists keep 100% of any sales they make. They can also reduce the costs of participation by finding a sponsor to pay all or part of the participation fee. Names of sponsors will be included on all ARTour publicity; website, posters, brochures.
