It's not enough to be an artist, enjoy the outdoors and create; one needs a plan if they want the world to see, what they see.
Web Design
Blogs, web pages, online galleries. A professionally built side will attract web
surfers with the use of code optimized for search engines.
Web sites can be used as an easy way to distribute a portfolio. Emailing urls to
galleries is a lot less expensive that printing, shipping and travelling around the world. Many miles can be covered from the comfort of your own computer. Artbo has worked with artists for many years and offers not only designs created to best display the artwork but also web maintenance services. For artists, this means new artwork added regularly and art shows promptly displayed. Put Artbo on your mailing list and your new shows are added to your site as they are announced. However, the web needs the support of the artist. Business cards and promotional sheets mailed or handed out at art shows complement the virtual promotion.
Web Promotion
Being a part of online
art communities can help increase visibility of your artwork. If you have your own promotional site, the more sites you have linking into it, the higher your ratings will be on search engines! Many artist associations include a page or link to artist sites. There are also sites that artists can post to and share information for free like the following:
deviantART
I found this site quite by mistake. Originating in California, it boasts the most
international regrouping of aspiring young artists as well as more established artists
I have yet seen on the web presented in a professional and dynamic manner. Perhaps
because it is the product of young original artists. While the site may skew towards
the digitally affected young artists of our time, it is worth a look! It also offers
free memberships.

Copyright Information
There is much confusion on copyright law as it applies to artistic works. In this
day and age where some shady companies may prefer to copy art instead of buying
it for redistribution, the buyer must beware. If you are interested in an artist's
work, be sure to research the artist to ensure the art is original and to buy from
a reputable dealer. It is illegal to produce copies of an artist's work thereby
profiting from an artist's struggle for recognition without their benefit, these
are the VanGoghs of today. The following two links help to clarify the artist rights
in Canada and the US. The final conclusion being that no one has the right to copy
an artist's work without their permission
